The Garden

The Red Lion’s garden captures that particular charm of a proper village watering hole, where wooden benches worn smooth by decades of elbows overlook the sort of unhurried countryside that makes you want to linger over a pint long after closing time. On warmer evenings, the place fills with the gentle murmur of regulars and visitors alike, punctuated by the clink of glasses and the occasional burst of laughter, whilst swallows dart overhead and the smell of wood smoke drifts from the chimney. It’s the kind of place where you can watch the light fade slowly across the fields, nursing a local ale, without feeling the slightest pressure to be anywhere else—exactly as a country pub should be.
