The Garden

The Red Lion’s rear garden is a genuine retreat, with plenty of benches scattered across a spacious lawn where families and dogs alike settle in contentiously for the afternoon—it’s the sort of place where time seems to slow down, especially on a sunny day with a proper pint in hand. A handful of tables occupy the front too, with ample parking nearby, making it accessible without fuss. Inside, the pub holds its age with grace—original beams criss-cross the ceiling, and there’s a proper lounge with sofas where you can sink into a quiet corner by the fire, though the public bar side keeps things livelier with games and a jukebox. Set in the village of Marsworth, this is a free house rooted in genuine countryside hospitality, the kind of place where the landlord knows his regulars by name and welcomes families and their companions with equal warmth.
