The Garden

The Firecrest sits comfortably in the heart of Wendover, a village where the Chilterns roll gently into view and the pace of life slows to something more sensible. Whilst this is very much a proper pub rather than one built around its garden, the setting speaks for itself — it’s the sort of place where you can slip away from the main road and find yourself among locals who’ve made it their neighbourhood gathering spot, whether popping in for a swift pint or settling in for a proper Sunday roast with friends. The atmosphere inside is warm and unhurried, with staff who seem genuinely pleased to see you, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in what emerges from it. It’s the kind of village pub where a good meal and genuine hospitality matter far more than Instagram moments.
