The Garden

The Dashwood Roadhouse sits generously spaced beside the road with a sprawling car park that welcomes both passing travellers and those who fancy settling in for the night in their motorhome — a genuine roadside hospitality that’s increasingly rare. The beer garden is a proper draw, particularly on fine days, with ample seating spread across a large outdoor area, much of it sheltered, where pizzas emerge from the kitchen to pair with a cold pint. There’s an informal, unpretentious character here that suits both a quick pit stop and a lingering afternoon with friends, whilst the mix of restaurant dining inside and more casual eating outside gives the place an appealingly relaxed, come-as-you-are sort of atmosphere. This is the kind of pub that feels genuinely pleased to see you, whether you’re arriving late after a long drive or simply chasing good food and convivial company in the open air.
