The Garden

The Rothschild Arms strikes an unexpectedly cheerful note for a countryside local, with a characterful garden that’s been given a playful seaside twist—complete with sandpit and beach-themed touches that lend it a proper seaside-holiday feel without any of the pretension. There’s a covered section at the back which works equally well for sheltering from a passing shower or hosting a gathering of mates, whilst the open garden space beyond is welcoming for families and those who fancy a pint in the fresh air. Local ciders like Rattler sit alongside the usual ales, and with pool, darts, and board games scattered about, it’s the sort of place where you can easily while away an afternoon without needing to venture far from the village.
