The Garden

The Squirrel sits in an enviable spot overlooking the village green—the sort of setting where you can settle into the garden with a pint and watch the seasons turn, children playing whilst parents relax on a summer afternoon. The beer garden is generous and properly rural, with plenty of space to spread out, and there’s a welcoming informality to the place that comes from genuine hospitality rather than trying too hard. Come autumn, the log fires inside beckon just as warmly, and the whole pub has that comfortable, lived-in character of a proper village local—the kind where the landlord knows how to make newcomers feel at home and regulars can rely on a decent pint and food cooked with real care.
